Touring exhibition of the Museum of Ancient Greek Instruments
The central theme of this moving exhibition is the presentation of ancient Greek musical instruments. It is an original and very interesting topic. The visitor learns about the shape and the use of the main musical instruments of ancient Greece and through them understands the close relationship the Greeks had with the music. I had the opportunity to admire:
The lyre: An ancient string musical instrument played by musicians at symposiums and various rituals of the God Dionysus(Pan).
Apollo’s Guitar: A string instrument with intense and deep sound that required special skill to play and accompanied the songs at various music public events.
The lute: The most well-known and important ancient Greek wind instrument, widely present at private and public ceremonies, track-field races, pageants and the ancient theater.
The Panpipes: Unique wind instrument created by multi-canes combined together, the ancient God of wine and fun Pan considered a virtuoso of the skill, thus gave it its name.
The Drum: Ancient percussion instrument used by women mostly at religious ceremonies.
The “Music Bells”: Additional percussion instrument – an array of brass bells connected together.

Περιοδεύουσα έκθεση του Μουσείου Αρχαίων Ελληνικών Οργάνων
Η περιοδεύουσα αυτή έκθεση έχει κεντρικό της θέμα την παρουσίαση των αρχαίων ελληνικών μουσικών οργάνων. Ένα θέμα πρωτότυπο και ταυτόχρονα πολύ ενδιαφέρον. Ο επισκέπτης μαθαίνει για τη μορφή αλλά και τη χρήση των κυριοτέρων μουσικών οργάνων της αρχαίας Ελλάδας και μέσα από αυτά αντιλαμβάνεται τη στενή σχέση των Ελλήνων με τη μουσική. Ανάμεσα στα άλλα μπορείτε να δείτε:
Τη λύρα: Πανάρχαιο έγχορδο μουσικό όργανο που την εφηύρε ο θεός Ερμής Η Λύρα συνδεόταν στενά με τη λατρεία του Απόλλωνα.
Την κιθάρα του Απόλλωνα: Έγχορδο όργανο με έντονο και βαθύ ήχο που απαιτούσε ιδιαίτερη δεξιοτεχνία και συνόδευε το τραγούδι σε μουσικούς αγώνες και άλλες σπουδαίες δημόσιες εκδηλώσεις.
Τον αυλό: Το σημαντικότερο και γνωστότερο αρχαιοελληνικό πνευστό όργανο, που χρησιμοποιούνταν σε όλες σχεδόν τις ιδιωτικές και δημόσιες τελετές, στους αθλητικούς αγώνες, στις πομπές και στις παραστάσεις τραγωδίας
Το τύμπανον: Αρχαίο κρουστό όργανο που το χρησιμοποιούσαν μόνο γυναίκες κυρίως σε θρησκευτικές εκδηλώσεις.
Η περιοδεύουσα έκθεση του Μουσείου Αρχαίων Ελληνικών Οργάνων δεν περιοδεύει μόνο στην Ελλάδα αλλά και σε πολλές άλλες χώρες.
